The operating systems course at UTSA is taught with a lecture and a recitation.
The recitation meets for one hour a week.
The process scheduling simulator is introduced in the recitation after a
short class demo.
Two recitation session are used to get the student familiar with the
simulator.
In the recitation, the students follow detailed instructions to get them
familiar with using the simulator.
The same recitations are uses each semester.
The following links are to recently used recitations.
To adapt these to another institution, the beginning instructions in the
first recitation would need to be modified to reflect the local installation
of the simulator.
The recitations are followed by an assignment that the students must turn in.
This assignment varies from one semester to the next.
The following are links to recent simulator assignments.
The ones before fall 2003 have additional parts which contain the material
that is now covered in the recitations.
