The operating systems course at UTSA is taught with a lecture and a recitation.
The recitation meets for one hour a week.
The producer-consumer synchronization simulator is usually introduced in the
recitation often without a class demo.
A short class demo is sometimes useful. This would normally take less than
5 minutes and just explain the difference between internal and external
inconsistencies. A web page describing this is referenced in the recitation
and can also be found here.
A link to one of the recitations in which this is discusses can be found here. To use at another institution, the only change needed would be the introduction on how to access the simulator.
