CS 6553 Performance Evaluation, Spring 2004 Assignment 5

Due after spring break.

You wll be giving a presentation to the class describing your project.

Presentations will be about 15 minutes in length and concentrate on a description of the project. Start the background information so that students will understand what the project is and why it is important. You may assume that the audience understands the material presented in this course so far as well as the prerequisite courses (OS and Architecture). Then describe the project. If you are making measurements or doing a simulation, describe the system you are using and the experimental design. If you are doing analytical work, describe the methods you are using and any preliminary results.

There will be some time for constructive questions after your presentation.

Presentations will begin the week after spring break at take up 3-4 class periods. I will assign 4 speakers per class. You must be ready to present during the assigned class period. If we run long, some presentations may be postponed until the following class.

Each student will be assigned one of the following dates:

You may volunteer for the March 23 or March 25 date if you wish. If you are one of the first four to volunteer for March 25, you will not be assigned to present on March 23. Notify me by email by midnight, Wednesday, March 10 if you want to pick one of these dates. Those who have not volunteered by then will be assigned to the remaining time slots in class on Thursday, March 11.
