Subject: CS 2213 Class email Number 8 for Spring 2001: To all CS 2213, Advanced Programming, students in Spring 2001: Do no reply to this email if you are registered for CS 2213. You will get instructions at the first class on what to do. If you received this and are not registered for CS 2213, please reply and I will remove you from this list. Our first midterm exam will be on Thursday, February 22. It will cover through Section 5.5 of the text plus the aditional material covered in class. The original information about the exam indicated that it would cover through the part of Section 5.6 covered in class on Thursday, Feb. 15. However, since we only finished through Section 5.4, the exam will not assume any information from Section 5.6. Section 5.5 will be covered in class on Tuesday, Feb. 20. It does not contain any new content, but is a good review for the exam. You should understand the Section 5.5 for the exam. On another note, as indicated in class, the original make file for Programming Assignment 1 would erase heaptester.o when a make clean was done. This has been fixed in the new version. That makefile also failed to use the proper lint option and so you might be getting a large number of extra lint warnings. I have fixed this in the current version. The only difference is the inclusion of the -Xarch=v9 option. Good luck on the test on Thursday. I will be out of town starting on Wedesday of next week, so if you have any questions, please see me by Tuesday. I will be available by email, but it will be by a slow connection. Please keep your messages short. Steve Robbins
